Intro to Brioche Knitting



Brioche knitting creates a lofty, reversible, ribbed fabric. Warm and squishy, brioche can be knit with one color or two!

In this three-session class, Sara will be teaching the basics of knitting brioche and the very important skill of fixing your mistakes. We'll be knitting a two color brioche hat using DK weight yarn (this project and class is PERFECT for that gorgeously-dyed yarn you've been hoarding!).


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Students will learn the basics of knitting brioche and how to fix their mistakes.
Requirements: Students must be comfortable with basic knitting stitches and with knitting in the round. This is a three-session class- the first class will cover the basics of knitting brioche and students will begin their hats. The second session will be used as a refresh/troubleshoot and learning to fix your mistakes, and the third session will be devoted to decreasing the crown of the hat. Please note: this meets at different times during the three sessions - please make sure that you can attend all three sessions! Materials needed for class: 100 grams total of DK weight yarn in 2 different colors - brioche is perfect for variegated yarns! US 4 (3.5mm) 16" circular needle US 6 (4mm) 16" circular needle US 6 (4mm) set of double pointed needles (DPNs) Stitch markers (1 fixed, 1 removable)
