A community-spirited gathering place where fiber enthusiasts can come together to enjoy common interests and the fondness for everything to do with the needle arts.

Join us in February as we Mitten-Along together!

When: February 2024
Where: Wherever you are! Again, no stress. If you want to "Mitten-Along" with us at
home- great! If you'd like some company- we're going to gather unofficially on
Thursdays (all day - drop in!) to work on our mittens together.

For the Knit version, we're going to be using the pattern Coastal Drift Mountains - you can find the pattern HERE.
It is available in two sizes: adult and adult large, and uses 130-150 yards of DK weight yarn.

The Coastal Drift design is inspired by the beautiful Prince Edward Island beaches and the drifting sands.

The mittens are knitted in the round starting at the cuff. There’s an elegant lace detail at the centre of each mitten.

These mittens can be done with two strands, a lace mohair and a fingering weight held together or any DK weight yarn.

Approximate yardage for DK weight, (so if you use 2 strands you need the same yardage for both strands)

Adult size: 130 -140 yards
Adult large: 150 - 160 yards

You can make the cuff longer if you wish, keep in mind, it will require more yarn.

For the Crochet version, we're going to be using the pattern Snow Drops Mittens - you can find the pattern HERE.
It is available in one size - adult, and uses 145 yards of Worsted or Aran weight yarn.

This pattern uses basic methods of mitten construction while incorporating the incredible texture provided by the star stitch.
